Ingredients

  • Freshly brewed coffee: 8–12 ounces of your favorite roast. Medium to dark roast works best for a richer flavor.
  • Heavy cream: 1–3 tablespoons, depending on how creamy you like it. Look for plain heavy whipping cream with no added sugar.
  • Sweetener (optional): Keto-friendly options like stevia, monk fruit, or erythritol blend.
  • Flavor boosts (optional): Vanilla extract, cinnamon, cocoa powder, or a pinch of sea salt.
  • MCT oil or butter (optional): For a “bulletproof-style” upgrade, add 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon.
  • Tools: Mug, spoon, and optionally a handheld frother or blender for extra foam.

Method

  1. Brew your coffee. Aim for 8–12 ounces of hot, strong coffee. Freshly brewed coffee tastes best.
  2. Warm the cream (optional). If you like a hotter drink, gently warm your heavy cream in the microwave for 10–15 seconds to avoid cooling the coffee.
  3. Add the cream. Start with 1 tablespoon, stir, taste, and add more as needed. For a café-style texture, use a handheld frother to blend it in.
  4. Sweeten to taste. Add your preferred keto sweetener sparingly. Stir well to dissolve.
  5. Customize the flavor. Add a drop or two of vanilla extract, a light shake of cinnamon, or a pinch of cocoa powder.
  6. Optional boost. For extra richness and satiety, blend in MCT oil or a small pat of unsalted butter. Use a blender or frother for a creamy, foamy finish.
  7. Serve and enjoy. Sip while hot. If making iced, let the coffee cool, then pour over ice and add cream.
